La storia della serie TNT "The Alienist" potrà non essere tra le più originali e innovative, ma il production design è fuori scala.

Mara LePere-Schloop (BFI) ha raccolto tutti i ciottoli disponibili nell'Europa dell'est ed è riuscita a ricostruire la New York del 1890 in modo assoutamente incredibile.

Il valore di tutta la produzione è all'altezza dello sforzo per costruire il set: costumi, props, cast e regia.
