Dave Stevens e' stato un illustratore fenomenale e un perfezionista insopportabile. Con uno stile pulitissimo cesellava le linee di pin-up tipiche degli anni '50, tra le quali brillava la bomba sexy

Bettie Page, ascesa al rango di modella di culto negli anni '80.

Parte della fama di Dave e' dovuta alla serie a fumetti Rocketeer, prodotta a ritmi geologici e che evocava il grandissimo gioco della Cinemaware Rocket Ranger.
