Il famoso titolo Cinemaware sembra un omaggio al "Top Gun" del 1927 con Clara Bow, una delle attrici più iconiche degli anni ruggenti.

Si tratta di un film di azione con risvolti romantici. Centinaia di piloti furono impiegati nella sua realizzazione e la ricostruzione della battaglia di Saint Mihiel fu uno sforzo colossale, con migliaia di comparse. Vinse il primo premio Oscar come miglior film.

Quest'anno è entrato a far parte del pubblico dominio.
